James Lee McFarland, better known as Master Tailor, Gentleman Jim McFarland, has been weaving his magic with fabric since 1961.  In addition to Master Tailor, Gentleman Jim also shares his expertise as a pattern maker, designers, sewing instructor and clothing manufacturer.

Gentleman Jim began working in the garment industry 47 years ago, coming in contact with all of the finer men’s stores: Weber and Heilbrunery, John Davidson, Barney’s Men’s Store and Macy’s. At age 20, he began a mentorship with Orie Wells of Orie's Custom Tailoring, an exclusive tailoring store located on 125th Street in New York City next to the Apollo Theatre.  During the 60s, Orie's made custom clothes for all the great stars: James Brown, The Isley Brothers, B.B. King, Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, James Cleveland and many more. The client list also included baseball great Jackie Robinson, Muhammad Ali, Civil Right's A. Philip Randolph and Bayard Ruskin and several members of the New York Jet's football team.

Gentleman Jim later relocated to Georgia to open his own business. He located in the Buckhead community in metropolitan Atlanta, and established himself as a high-end, exclusive men's and women's clothing establishment.

Gentleman Jim describes himself as the best re-creator in the world. He has a passion for vintage design, specifically clothes from the 1930’s and 40’s.  He uses color to match the mood of the garment and his clients.

His refined manner and impeccable taste earned him his moniker; a calling card he represents even today.
